Happy Holi!!

As mentioned yesterday, I hosted an Easter Egg hunt for my training class. I explained Good Friday, Easter and what the Easter Bunny represented. I held up one of my plastic eggs and told them that "some families hide these and the kids canvas houses and lawns finding all the hidden eggs. I have hidden 11..." and before I even finished my sentence, all were up off their chairs running around our small room. The entire thing took about 30 seconds. They were so excited and happy I had wished that I would have hidden more. Oh well, the evening was filled with more chocolate eggs and bunnies. We had fun!! I was hoping to capture pictures, however by the time I was able to pick up my camera.. then entire event was over.

We also celebrated Holi with some color. I posted a picture of me with color on my face. Please understand that my team was being nice - imagine filling your hand with a substance like baby powder (except the colors are bright and vibrant) and dumping it on someone's head throwing it in their faces. Another option would be to fill a balloon with that powder and water and wa-la, a literal explosion of color... all over... everywhere. So, the little color that you see on my face isn't really what happens. The intent is that your entire body is covered and you are left almost unrecognizable.

As for my moving saga.... as expected when I returned to the hotel, I inquired at the desk where my stuff was. I was impressed that they knew who I was, however unfortunate for me, I still wasn't moved. They showed me my new room and then sent someone up to move my stuff. My expeditious move only took about 18 hours to complete in the end. When I went into my first room, I had a message under the door asking me to call about my room change - I thought "what? I was rather clear on at least 6 occasions that I work 630 pm - 3am". I know the gentlemen moving my crap wasn't liking the fact that I was helping, but at this point it was 415 am and all I wanted to do was to go to bed and wipe that color off my face... who knew where my shower "necessities" were. This morning on the way to the pool (btw, it's a sunny 95*F again today and I hear that Chicago is nasty and snowy... I'm sending some shine your way!!) the hotel manager flagged me down and asked how everything was. I told him that I wasn't happy with the fact that I still hadn't been moved while I was working. I clearly told them to take my stuff when I was gone. All in all, it's really not a big deal. I'm so fortunate to have the opportunity to be here and to work with our team here in India that this little hiccup is just that.

Tomorrow we plan on touring Delhi and seeing the sites here. Happy Holi!
